Rhythm basics

Regular Rhythm 

 

Regular Rhythm in design is constructed from a series of different designs which all continue a pattern of continues flow in the same direction, as shown in the diagram above

Flowing Rhythm 

Flowing Rhythm in design is built up from various different flowing type strokes, it flows across the page and may be random and spontaneous. 

Progressive Rhythm 

Progressive Rhythm in design is built up an image which the progressively continues across/into the page which creates extra dimension of the design.

Progressive Rhythm

I find this image very pleasing, it uses a progressive rhythm which is not over complicated, it uses contrasting colours and shows that simple designs may be very effective to the eye, without being overwhelming without intricate detail.

This image is a very good example of the different variants of progressive rhythm. The image is not simply overlapped but also has a unique perspective of which the fence goes into the distance. Again it is a simple but effective piece which really shows that simple, arranged designs may be superior to complicated unorganized designs.

This image shows off a developed progressive image, it shows that progressive rhythm may be used in higher industry, rather than just diagrams. this image is very interesting and indicates various different techniques within art and photography

This design is more of a demonstration of Progressive Rhythm, the design shows that the object is getting bigger as it moves along the page, overlapping the image next to it. using this technique you may develop very strong images which really latch onto the attention of the viewer. 

Regular Rhythm

This example of Regular rhythm shows that it may be more free than simply straight patterns. This design consists of various colours and shapes. it is repetitively arranged to add simplicity to the design whilst also keeping it interesting. A design like this would be used well in advertisement.

This is a very good example of regular rhythm, It is a very repetitive which make sit easy for the eye to perceive. it is not an over complicated image and allows the viewer to perhaps concentrate on a foreground if the designer was to use this image as a background.

Another very good example of simple, regular Rhythm, it shows how the rhythm may be used in photography as well as paintings etc.
